Job Title: CNC Operator
Pay: $23–$30/hour (based on experience)

As a CNC Operator, you’ll take ownership of machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and quality control. What You’ll Do:
As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring all machine guarding and safety devices are in place and operational.
  • Performing daily maintenance and safety checks on machinery.
  • Maintaining logs of preventive maintenance as per the schedule.
  • Measuring workpiece dimensions to guarantee accuracy and repeatability.
  • Monitoring machine operations to identify defects or malfunctions.
  • Reporting issues and suggesting improvements for operational efficiency.
  • Setting and adjusting pressure and tool clearance to meet specifications.
  • Positioning workpieces using backstops or layout marks for precise machining.
  • Setting and adjusting CNC and manual back gauges as needed.
  • Reading job specifications to determine necessary machine adjustments.
  • Repositioning stock for multiple operations efficiently.
  • Recommending and designing tooling enhancements to improve productivity.
  • Managing die inventory and reporting tooling issues promptly.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of bend deductions.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Following safe stacking and pallet practices.
  • Performing miscellaneous duties to support production goals.
Inspection Requirements:
  • Verify material type, thickness, quantity, and detect defects.
  • Check grain direction and orientation.
  • Review job travelers and prior operations for accuracy.
  • Determine the optimal bend sequence for efficiency.
  • Measure dimensions and angles at set intervals to ensure quality.
  • Check for tooling marks and overall part quality.
What You’ll Bring:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • Experience & Education: Minimum of 3+ years running CNC machinery (beyond basic operation) and a high school diploma or equivalent; technical school training preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to interpret job travelers, BOMs, and mechanical drawings. Proficient in using measuring tools such as tape measures, dial calipers, and protractors. Competence in converting decimals/fractions and developing bend deductions.
  • Personal Characteristics: Strong attention to detail, dependable with excellent attendance, team-oriented, and safety-focused.
  • Physical Abilities: Capacity to stand for 8–10 hours and lift/move up to 50 lbs. Ability to work around machinery and handle dust, shavings, and oils.

This position is on-site in Biddeford, ME. Shift Options Available:
  • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday
  • 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM, Monday–Thursday
  • Weekend hours available (optional)

Client is highly flexible — will accommodate a custom schedule for the right candidate.

Dress Code: Closed-toe shoes (steel toes preferred)
