Job Title: 2nd Shift Machinist I - CNC Lathes, Spray & Bonding Turning Machines
Pay: $22/Hr. to 24/Hr., with 11% Shift Differential after TrainingÂ
Hours: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Training:Â Â Training on 1st shift, 7am to 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a Machinist I for a temp to hire position with our client, a leading manufacturing company located in Biddeford, ME. The Machinist I will be responsible for performing machining operations, including CNC lathe operations, and leading teams in spray and bonding operations. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of lathe machinist experience and leadership skills. This is a temp to hire position with 1st and 2nd shift available in Biddeford, ME.
As a Machinist I / Shop Lead, you will be responsible for:

Using CNC and conventional machine tools and attachments to perform machining operations.

Leading and assisting team members in determining work procedures, machine tools, and equipment to be used.

Working from blueprints, sketches, work orders, and other specifications to determine the best course of action.

Performing setup and operation of machines, ensuring accuracy and maintaining specified tolerances.

Operating bonding and spray booths and training others in these areas.

Determining dimensions, machining angular surfaces, and performing layout work for job setups.

Using special or improvised tools and fixtures for complex machining tasks.

Producing cuts and finishes on metals and other materials, including aluminum, steel, nickel, plastics, and more.

Ensuring safety procedures are followed in the machining area and mentoring team members on safety best practices.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:

High school diploma or GED.

1 to 3 years of experience as a lathe machinist and 5+ years of experience as a leader in a lathe machining cell or department.

1 to 3 years of experience with shop math skills, including trigonometry.

1 to 3 Years of proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T
-
Strong leadership and communication skills, hands-on experience with machining operations, and the ability to mentor and train team members.

Ability to lift and move heavy materials, work in a manufacturing environment, and follow safety protocols.
