Job Description


Job Title: Part-Time Bookkeeper

Location: Auburn, ME
Hours: Approximately 15-20 hours per week
Pay Rate: $23 - $25 per hour

We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and self-motivated part-time bookkeeper to join our client’s team in the Lewiston, Maine area.  The ideal candidate will have experience using QuickBooks, managing financial transactions, and handling payroll taxes. This is a flexible, part-time position with roughly 15-20 hours of work per week. Must have availability for Mondays or Tuesdays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing

  • Ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date

  • Assist with other general bookkeeping duties as needed
     

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounting

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with small to medium-sized businesses

  • Familiarity with additional accounting software is a plus

  • Prepare payroll and file payroll taxes (941, 941ME, UC-1) preferred
