Job Title: Cook – Urgently Hiring
Pay: $25–$27+/hr DOE
Hours: Flexible scheduling
Start Date: ASAP
Type: Temporary

We are seeking a Cook for a temporary position with our client, a local client in Machias, Maine, serving students, faculty, staff, and community members. The Cook will prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events—following predetermined recipes and portion guidelines. This role may also assist with inventory management and ordering. While this is a short-term opportunity, it’s an excellent foot in the door for potential permanent employment.

As a Cook, you will:

  • Prepare and serve menu items according to recipes and portion guidelines

  • Set up and stock workstations prior to service

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and prep areas

  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures

  • Assist with inventory tracking and ordering as needed

  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous commercial cooking experience (required)

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, pushing, and pulling for the duration of the shift

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills

  • A positive and team-oriented attitude

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing menus and schedules
