Job Description


Job Title: Part-Time Customer Service/Dock Position – Urgently Hiring
Pay: $21/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP – Temporary

We are seeking a Part-Time Hybrid Customer Service/Dock Worker for a temporary opportunity in Bangor, Maine. This unique role combines physical, hands-on dock work with customer-facing responsibilities. Candidates should feel comfortable working independently, as there may be times when they are the only person in the building.

This is a part-time, temporary role with potential for longer-term opportunities.
Dock Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently sort, load, unload, and handle palletized and non-palletized freight

  • Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment

  • Secure freight safely inside trailers using proper tools and supplies

  • Work in a non-climate-controlled dock area—conditions may include slippery floors

  • Lift and move freight up to 50 lbs frequently and over 70 lbs occasionally

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures

  • Perform basic math—with and without a calculator
Customer Service Responsibilities:

  • Answer customer inquiries and assist with scheduling freight pickups and deliveries

  • Enter customer and freight information accurately into the system

  • Provide timely updates and solutions related to customer freight

  • Support residential and commercial customer needs with professionalism

  • Maintain and grow knowledge of services and systems

  • Handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting with strong attention to detail
The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Minimum age of 18 years old

  • Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset

  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written

  • Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to shifting priorities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

  • Ability to pass a county-level background check

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous dock/warehouse experience, ideally in a transportation or LTL environment

  • Forklift operation experience

  • Prior customer service experience in logistics or warehouse settings

  • Positive, professional demeanor and a desire to succeed
