Job Title: Housekeeper/Laundry Aide – Urgently Hiring!
Pay: $20.00/hour
Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Full-Time | Every Other Weekend Required
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a Housekeeper/Laundry Aide for a full-time position with our client, a compassionate and resident-centered nursing and rehabilitation facility located in Bangor, ME. The Housekeeper/Laundry Aide will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff. Success in this role means consistently delivering high-quality housekeeping and laundry services in accordance with facility policies, infection control standards, and state regulations.

As a Housekeeper/Laundry Aide, you will be responsible for:

  • Clean common areas and resident rooms by sweeping, mopping, and dusting

  • Strip beds, launder linens and towels, and make beds with clean linen

  • Clean bathrooms and kitchen areas and restock supplies as necessary

  • Sort, wash, dry, and fold resident clothing, linens, towels, and bibs

  • Distribute clean laundry to appropriate units using carts

  • Remove trash, spoiled items, and soiled briefs; report maintenance or safety concerns

  • Observe infection control policies and use equipment safely and properly

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

  • At least 1 year of cleaning experience in a healthcare, residential, or hospital setting

  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing stairs, and standing for extended periods

  • Clear communication skills in English with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and coworkers

  • A respectful, compassionate demeanor and the patience to support the needs of older adults

  • Awareness of infection control and environmental safety standards

  • A strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail
