Job Title: Cooks & Cook/Supervisors – Urgently Hiring!
Pay: $20+/hr for Cooks, $21+/hr for Cook/Supervisors, DOE
Hours: Monday–Friday shifts between 7:00 AM – 6:30 PM; Saturday/Sunday shifts 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM Flexibility Required
Start Date: ASAP
Type: Temporary

We are seeking Cooks and Cook/Supervisors for temporary positions in Bangor, Maine, serving students, faculty, staff, and community members. In these roles, you will prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events—following predetermined recipes and portion guidelines. You may also assist with inventory management and ordering.

The Cook/Supervisor role includes all Cook responsibilities, plus providing supervision over kitchen staff, ensuring a safe working environment, and training new employees.

As a Cook or Cook/Supervisor, you will:

  • Prepare and serve hot and cold menu items according to recipes and portion guidelines

  • Set up and stock workstations before each shift

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and prep areas

  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures

  • Assist with inventory and ordering as needed

  • (For Cook/Supervisors) Supervise kitchen team, ensure safety compliance, and train incoming staff

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Prior cooking experience in a commercial kitchen (required)

  • Supervisory or leadership experience for the Cook/Supervisor role (preferred)

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, pushing, and pulling for the duration of the shift

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive and team-oriented attitude
