Job Description

Job Title: Hand Weaving Technician - Direct Hire
Pay: $20/hr + 10% shift differential for 2nd shift ($22/hr total for 2nds) Annual merit raises, $1,000 sign-on bonus, full benefits Hours:  1st Shift - Monday- Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM – 1:30 AM (4-day work week) Start Date: ASAP (Approx. 3-week pre-employment process)
We are seeking Hand Weaving Technicians for direct hire positions with our client, a leading manufacturer, located in Biddeford, Maine. Hand Weavers will work directly with carbon fiber material, creating intricate multi-directional weaves used in cutting-edge applications in the defense and aerospace industries. Successful candidates will be detail-oriented, safety-focused, and motivated to grow within the aerospace manufacturing field.
This is a full-time position on either first or second shift in a climate-controlled environment with excellent growth potential and industry-leading benefits.
As a Hand Weaving Technician, you will:
  • Perform repetitive hand weaving tasks, using tools and applying physical force to weaving fixtures
  • Handle needles, spools, and perform associated utility jobs
  • Inspect products to ensure specifications are met
  • Set up looms, perform rodding, weaving functions, documentation updates, in-process compressions, and frame installation
  • Wear required personal protective equipment, including safety shoes and safety eyewear
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Support and participate in company-wide Lean improvement initiatives

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
  • Experience: Manufacturing exposure preferred, but not required
  • Skills: Excellent hand-eye coordination, strong attention to detail, ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, and basic math skills (testing required)
  • Personal Characteristics: Safety-minded, reliable, motivated to grow, works well independently and in a team
  • Certifications/Licenses: None required, but must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Passport or ability to obtain one)
  • Physical Abilities: Able to lift 50 lbs as needed and stand for long periods of time
