Job Title: Manufacturing Associate  – Urgently Hiring
Pay: $22–$23/hour to start; up to $25/hour with experience
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (flexible start/stop times)
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a Manufacturing Associate for a temp-to-hire position at Optimum Imaging Diagnostics, a biotechnology company located in Scarborough, ME. The Manufacturing Associate will assist in the assembly of Rapid Diagnostic Test kits, following detailed written procedures for layered test assembly and final card production. Success in this role means delivering high-quality, accurate test kits while maintaining strict adherence to standard operating procedures and quality control standards.

As a Manufacturing Associate, you will be responsible for:
  • Layering test components (double-sided tape, plastic, membrane)
  • Cutting material into 7–8mm strips using a cutter machine
  • Placing strips on test cards, applying labels and tape for secure assembly
  • Operating strip machine and pouch sealer
  • Following established SOPs for each step
  • Maintaining strict quality control standards

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Basic math skills
  • High attention to detail and quality
  • Comfortable with repetitive tasks
  • Ability to sit or stand based on the task
  • Prior experience at facilities like Abbott Labs is a plus
  • Comfortable with working independently
  • Reliable and punctual
