Job Title: Machinist – Urgently Hiring
Pay: $26–$35 per hour + up to 6% performance bonus
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a Machinist for a full-time, temp-to-hire position for our client, a well-established manufacturer of high-performance materials located in Biddeford, ME. The Machinist will support the production of high-temperature components used in aerospace, defense, and advanced engineering systems. The Machinist will play a vital role in machining parts and materials with high precision to meet strict technical specifications. Success in this role means consistently producing high-quality, accurate work in a safety-focused environment. This is a great opportunity to work on meaningful, high-impact projects in a fast-paced production setting.

Please note: Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and must be a U.S. Citizen. These requirements are mandatory for this position.

As a Machinist, you will be responsible for:

  • Setting up and operating vertical mills, horizontal lathes, grinders, and band saws

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders

  • Measuring and preparing materials for machining

  • Determining machining processes and tooling requirements

  • Assembling machined parts into sub-units or final products

  • Inspecting in-process and completed parts to ensure quality standards

  • Using precision instruments such as optical comparators and digital measuring tools

  • Maintaining equipment and ensuring a clean, organized work area

  • Participating in Lean initiatives and following all safety protocols

  • Completing data entry and reporting for quality and production tracking

  • Handling hazardous materials when required

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; 2-year technical degree preferred

  • 0–2 years of machining or manufacturing experience

  • Experience using manual machines and interpreting GD&T

  • Strong understanding of ASME Y14.5 and blueprint reading

  • Mechanical aptitude and mathematical problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and within a team

  • Preferred: Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement

  • Physical ability to stand, move, and handle tools/materials safely

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
