Job Title: Metals Inspector (Immediate Need)
Pay Range: $21/hr
Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:45am - 4:15pm 40 hours/week, outdoors
Start Date: ASAP

Bonney Staffing is seeking a Metals Inspector for a new opportunity in Portland, ME. No prior experience is needed for this full-time role. As a Metals Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting incoming material, grading it for purchase, and directing customers to the appropriate area. There is also a small amount of paperwork associated with each transaction. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on, outdoor work.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect shipments of scrap metal delivered by truck, rail car, or ship to ensure material meets specifications and is free from environmental hazards.
  • Accurately record data such as weight, grade, content, and quantity of scrap metal.
  • Direct customers and vehicles to ensure safe and orderly traffic flow within the facility.
  • Notify supervisors of any quality concerns and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Provide general yard assistance as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
  • Comfortable with light paperwork and documentation.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physical labor.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
Job Conditions:
  • Exposure to outdoor elements, including noise, fumes, and dirt.
  • Required personal protective equipment (PPE) provided.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours, including weekends or holidays, if needed.
