Job Description


Job Title: 3rd Shift Standing Forklift Operator 
Pay: $21.35/Hr. or more, depending on experience + shift differential of $1.50/Hr.
Schedules Available:

  • 1 Candidate: Unload PIT – Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday (10:00 PM – 8:00 AM)

  • 2 Candidates: Rotation – Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday (10:00 PM – 8:00 AM)

Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking Standing Forklift Operators for temp-to-hire positions for our client, a busy warehouse and logistics facility located in Portland, ME. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) to support shipping and receiving operations. The Forklift Operator ensures materials are moved, loaded, unloaded, and staged correctly to meet daily demands and maintain a smooth workflow. These are overnight shift positions in a warehouse setting.

As a Standing Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Operating stand-up forklifts and other Powered Industrial Trucks safely

  • Loading, unloading, and storing products and materials

  • Stacking and transporting materials to designated areas

  • Using equipment to scan products and print labels

  • Completing paperwork and using inventory systems as needed

  • Following product rotation procedures

  • Conducting daily safety inspections of equipment

  • Keeping the facility clean and inspection-ready for SQFI, FDA, and customer audits

  • Reporting any safety issues or incidents to the supervisor

  • Performing housekeeping and miscellaneous duties as assigned


The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required

  • At least 1 year of recent forklift operating experience

  • Basic computer skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to comprehend English

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

  • Physical ability to work in a warehouse setting and operate PIT equipment
