Job Title: Bookkeeper
Location: Brewer, ME
Pay Range: $23-$28/hr based on experience
Schedule: Start date ASAP, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM; this position is temp-to-hire.
Job Overview:

In this position, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and contributing to our strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers and journals.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor financial discrepancies.
- Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and procedures.
- Manage confidential information and maintain security of financial documents.
- Provide support in training others on software tools as needed (Microsoft Office proficiency required).
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in a corporate finance environment.
- Familiarity with tax preparation and filing processes.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
