Job Description


The Welder II position in Biddeford, Maine is a production welding role. The ideal candidate must have a mechanical background and be eager to learn welding techniques. This role involves operating various welding equipment, assembling roll sections, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with potential for overtime on weekends.

Details:

  • Schedule: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (OT possible Fri, Sat, Sun)

  • Pay: Starting at $20/Hr., more depending on experience 

  • Start Date: ASAP


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate equipment including presses, welders, and spot welders

  • Assemble and weld roll singles and sections

  • Assist in the assembly of various shells

  • Learn to set up and operate GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW welding techniques

  • Attach rigging and operate overhead crane and/or lift truck to move parts to fabrication or assembly areas

  • Follow ISO 9000 systems and report any safety or quality concerns

  • Maintain work areas in accordance with LEAN 6S practices

  • Willingness to work overtime to meet delivery schedules

  • May be required to travel to customer/vendor facilities as needed

  • Help ensure safety policies are followed and report any concerns to management

  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Mechanical background and experience in manufacturing preferred

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings (preferred)

  • Advanced knowledge of mathematics is a plus

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and common-sense understanding to carry out instructions
