Job Description


Job Title: Laser Operator
Pay Range: $23 – $30/hour (Based on Experience)
Shift: 2nd Shift (3 PM – 1:00 AM) Monday-Thursday

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Laser Operator to join a fast-paced metal fabrication environment. This role requires strong knowledge of CNC Laser cutting systems, the ability to interpret part drawings, and a commitment to safety and quality. Candidates should be confident in making program adjustments and working independently as well as collaboratively within a team cell.
Responsibilities:
Machine Operation & Production
  • Operate CNC laser cutting machines to produce precision sheet metal and plate components.
  • Load/unload materials and adjust settings for optimal performance.
  • Interpret job travelers and cut files to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform minor program edits when needed to improve efficiency or quality.
  • Organize finished parts for next production stages.
  • Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Report any material defects or machine issues promptly.
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Assist with raw material inventory and remnant organization.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and nozzle replacement.
     
Qualifications:
  • Must-Haves:
  • 3–5 years operating CNC Laser cutting equipment.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programs and ability to adjust parameters.
  • High attention to detail and safety.
  • Willingness to support other tasks within the production cell.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience logging time in/out of jobs for accurate timekeeping.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift, slide, and stand for long periods; some overhead reaching required.
  • Steel toe shoes required (100% reimbursement upon hire).
