Job Title: Material Handler
Pay: $19–$22/hour, based on experience
Hours: Monday–Friday; start times as early as 6:00 AM and end as late as 3:30 PM (or until finished). Overtime and weekends as needed.
Start Date: ASAP

Looking for a hands-on warehouse role with room to grow? Join a busy food manufacturing team in Westbrook, ME, as a Material Handler and help ensure smooth materials flow and efficient warehouse operations.

As a Material Handler, you’ll perform a variety of tasks to support production and inventory management. Success in this role comes from being dependable, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential.

What You’ll Do:
As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for:

  • Cross-training and working in all areas within materials and warehouse operations

  • Operating forklifts and pallet jacks (licensed operators)

  • Performing accurate basic arithmetic and metric-to-standard conversions

  • Loading, unloading, packing, and staging materials

  • Following all safety and PPE requirements, including safety boots and protective gear

  • Working in varying temperature conditions (32°F–90°F)

  • Supporting team members and maintaining a cooperative attitude

  • Completing additional tasks as directed by the warehouse supervisor

What You’ll Bring:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • High school diploma or GED (required)

  • At least 1 year of relevant warehouse or industry experience (preferred)

  • Ability to be licensed to operate forklifts and pallet jacks

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

  • Dependability, flexibility, and a strong work ethic

  • Good communication skills and fluency in English (reading and writing)

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand or sit for extended periods
