Snap Collator in Portland, ME!

Job Title: Snap Collator
Pay: $19–$20/hour depending on experience (up to $21–$22/hour if market requires)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP

Looking for a hands-on manufacturing role with great growth potential? Join a well-established printing and production company as a Snap Collator in Portland, ME, and make an impact every day.

As a Snap Collator, you’ll operate machinery that consolidates and trims multiple parts of business forms, ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency. You’ll work closely with the production team in the Sheet Fed Bindery Department to meet daily production and delivery goals.
What You’ll Do:
As a Snap Collator, you will be responsible for:

  • Prioritizing work based on delivery date, quantity, size, and job specifications

  • Calculating the number of boxes needed and preparing accurate shipping labels

  • Retrieving boxes, chips, and rolls of finished forms from storage

  • Loading rolls onto spindles as specified by the job ticket

  • Adjusting machine settings, including slitter blades, pins, brushes, augers, numbering mechanisms, and glue nozzles

  • Threading paper forms through rollers and aligning targets for quality control

  • Running samples to verify alignment and quality standards

  • Monitoring and adjusting machine operation throughout the shift

  • Packaging finished forms by stacking, jogging straight, inserting chips, taping boxes, and labeling correctly

  • Completing timesheets and delivering finished jobs to the appropriate department

  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area and following all safety guidelines
What You’ll Bring:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret job instructions

  • Experience operating machinery, hoists, pallet jacks, or similar tools

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

  • Ability to prioritize work and meet production deadlines
Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods in a production environment (hearing protection required)

  • Ability to lift and pull items ranging from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs. throughout the shift

  • Capability to tend, load, and unload machinery safely and efficiently
