Job Description


Job Title: Welder 
Pay: $19–$24/hour (Based on experience - higher rates available for exceptional candidates!)
Hours: Full-time, 10-hour shifts | Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. | Friday overtime may be required
Start Date: ASAP

We are urgently seeking a Welder for a dynamic and growing outdoor living space company specializing in handcrafted fencing, gates, and pergolas, located in Pittsfield, ME. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the creation of custom outdoor products in a fast-paced vinyl fabrication shop.

As a skilled Welder, you will thrive in a collaborative, team-focused environment, where your mechanical aptitude and attention to detail will shine. This position has the potential for temp-to-hire, setting you on a path for a lasting career.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fabricate and repair custom orders using various materials, adhering to quality standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and work orders accurately to produce approved designs.
  • Perform MIG welding (TIG welding experience is a plus) and execute metal finishing processes.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal components with precision.
  • Fit, install, and assemble fabricated structures, ensuring structural integrity.
  • Operate shop machinery and power tools (training will be provided).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment to promote efficiency and safety.
  • Assist with material handling in and out of the shop as needed.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
  • Completion of a Fabrication Trainee program or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Proficient in MIG welding (TIG welding is highly regarded).
  • Mechanical aptitude with strong hand-eye coordination for precise workmanship.
  • Ability to read and interpret tape measures and blueprints accurately.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt, with a willingness to rotate tasks as needed.
  • Certification in welding/fabrication is preferred; candidates should be prepared to pass a welding test.
  • Familiarity with AWS welding symbols is a plus.
  • Physically capable of standing, bending, and lifting 50 lbs for extended periods.
  • Reliable transportation and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
