Commercial Baker in Westbrook, ME – Direct Hire!

Job Title: Commercial Baker
Pay: $41,600–$45,760 annually, depending on experience
Hours: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Days off: Tuesday and Saturday)
Start Date: ASAP / Direct Hire

Looking for a hands-on role in a fast-paced, family-owned bakery? Join a local bakery known for its quality breads and rolls as a Commercial Baker and make an impact every day.

As a Commercial Baker, you’ll oversee the baking area, ensure efficiency, maintain health and safety standards, and produce high-quality baked goods. You’ll work closely with the team to keep operations running smoothly during peak production times.
What You’ll Do:
As a Commercial Baker, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the baking area to ensure efficiency and compliance with safety and health regulations

  • Preparing and baking bread and rolls to meet daily production requirements

  • Monitoring and adjusting proof boxes for optimal dough development

  • Overseeing the cooling process of baked products to maintain quality and freshness

  • Operating and managing four rack ovens for consistent baking results

  • Conducting quality control checks to ensure product standards are met

  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and hygienic work environment
What You’ll Bring:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience: Experience in a commercial or industrial kitchen setting

  • Skills: Knowledge of baking processes and baking equipment operation

  • Personal Traits: Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask in a high-volume environment

  • Physical Abilities: Good stamina to work on a concrete floor and stand for long hours

  • Other Requirements: Ability to wear proper footwear and follow dress code (shorts allowed in summer, closed-toe shoes required); team mentality and flexibility in a small, fast-paced environment (nice-to-have)
