Job Title: Accounting Department Assistant (167185)

Accounting Department Assistant Pay Range: $17-17.50 hourly

Accounting Department Assistant Schedule:  M-F, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm (1 hr lunch)

Accounting Department Assistant Start Date: ASAP


The Accounting Department Assistant position in Portland, Maine is responsible for  processing edits of attorney's time entries, preparation of paper and electronic billing statements, and processing of accounts payable including scanning, filing and maintaining supporting schedules. In addition you are responsible for preparing deposits and other miscellaneous duties as may be assigned. You will have a solid understanding of MS Excel, MS word and PDF processing skills. Successful candidates will have a minimum of 2-4 years experience in an entry level accounting role, have exceptional attention to detail and time management skills. This is a full time, temp to hire position.


Accounting Department Assistant Qualifications: 

  • High School Graduate or equivalent

  • Minimum of 2-4 years' experience in an entry level accounting role

  • Experience with MS Excel software required, knowledge of Legal-X and TyMetrix 360 preferred (other electronic billing software a plus)

  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills required

  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
